Before Changing The Registry

We talked about the following at the last CUGOY meeting.
If you have to change the Registry for any problem, for instance, to remove viruses, trojans, spyware or a program such as AOL, Norton, etc...
Turn off the system Restore. System restore saves the registry settings every day. If you change the Registry and then have to restore to an earlier day, the changes you made to the registry will revert to an earlier time.
To turn off the System Restore, right click on My Computer then Properties. Click on System Restore then check the box that says "Turn off System Restore on All drives".
After changing the Registry (removing viruses, etc...), turn on the System Restore by following the above and unchecking the box.
